Ill-treatment/ Storyboard : BD Parole d'Enfant, planches 1 à 6

Here is the storyboard from the sixth first pages of the comic I prepare with and for the Association Parole d'Enfant, about childhood ill-treatment.
This draft that I make on the final size, A4, permits to concrete each page composition, and to show a global and reliable preview of the final result and its effect ! It's a precious help to anticipate technical difficulties and to eventually check what is efficient and what it doesn't ! Then a storyboard is not unalterable, it's a kind of study ! So, what you're watching tonight may be lightly or substantly alterated later !
I take the opportunity to add for those who are interested in, all that concerns size and format is a quite important point in comic art ! The page is a whole, it must be evaluated as a globality, then you must be able to think of it and to look a it either in little or big size, at each work step ! Here we talk about balance ! Between the panels, between the empty or the occupied space, between black and white, between light and shadow, and so on...
The storyboard makes you able to know where you go, since the beginning. It has an second advantage you should not neglict : when you work on your original page, at the next step, you're not obliged to work in a linear way any more, you can begin by the panels or the scenes you prefer ! When you are on the time or on your tiredness, it can be quite important indeed.... ^^
