Dessin vendu à l'occasion du Marché de Noël de l'Association Loisirs Planet Jeunes de Luynes, au profit de la Compagnie Après La Pluie, qui s'efforce d'améliorer le quotidien de vie des enfants atteints du cancer par la création artistique ! 

Active en France, mais aussi en Belgique et en Afrique, la Compagnie Après La Pluie développe différents projets de spectacles et de contes illustrés, avec les enfants des services d'hémato-oncologie. Pour faire entendre la parole de ces enfants et leur apporter un peu de soleil !

Training for the Bat, part II

Bonsoir les Crocos ! :) )

Voici donc la version encrée de cette bonne vieille chauve-souris ! :) ) Le but ici étant de m'entraîner, mais également de m'amuser, j'ai essayé de pousser cet encrage au maximum de mes possibilités, utilisant beaucoup d'aplats, de hachures, et d'effets de textures quand j'ai pu. Aller aussi loin dans le détail n'est pas obligatoire du tout, mais je dois dire que je me suis tout simplement éclaté ! :) )

Réalisé avec le gang habituel de feutres-pinceaux et marqueurs Pentel, un peu de Tipp-Ex, un peu de numérique, et surtout surtout surtout, mes deux ingrédients secrets : beaucoup de jazz pour l'exécution, mais également la pop de la magnifique Delia Verde pour les finitions au numérique..... :) ) ) ) ) )

Here is the inked version of this good old bat ! :) ) The goal here being to train and also to have fun, I tryed to push my inking to its maximum, using a lot of patches, hatching, and texture effects when I could. To go so far into details isn't an obligation at all, but I must say I just had a huge huge fun to do so ! :) )

Realized with the usual gang of Pentel markers and brush, a few Tipp-Ex, some digital, and above all, my two secret ingredients : a lot of jazz for the execution, but also the pop of the marvellous Delia Verde for the digital finitions....... :) ) ) ) )

Delia whom I would introduce to you in a new musical post to come..... :)

Training for the Bat, part I :)

At start, I just did this one to train myself to draw the Batman's suit, to try to work the volumes too, and I had no intention to show it here. So I just drew the character without any posture in particular, and just added a small grid to provide an ant-eye view, but nothing really specific in terms of perspective. 

Eventually, I liked the way it turned, so I added a few buildings, drawn more or less freehand, to complete the piece. I'll finish it to train my inking skills ^^

I know the volume of the arms is exaggerated and it's not proportional to the rest of the body, but I decided to leave the things that way, as it gives him a more impressive and insecure aspect, in my opinion. If it was a professional work, I would have fixed it as a well-behaved child or just asked my editor what he preferred. Anyway, exaggeration is allowed in comics, no ? After all, we're talking about a 6, 4/5 tall guy disguised as a bat LoL... :)

Au départ, j'ai fait celui-ci pour m'entraîner à dessiner le costume de Batman, essayer de travailler les volumes également, et n'avais pas l'intention de le montrer ici. Du coup j'ai juste dessiné le personnage sans lui donner de posture particulière, et j'ai simplement ajouté une petite grille pour donner un effet de contre-plongée, mais rien de vraiment particulier en termes de perspective.

Finalement, j'ai bien aimé le résultat, donc j'ai ajouté quelques buildings, dessinés plus ou moins à main-levée, pour compléter le dessin. Je le finirai pour entraîner mon encrage ^^

Je sais que le volume des bras est exagéré et en disproportion avec le reste du corps, mais j'ai décidé de laisser les choses en l'état, dans la mesure où ça lui donne un aspect plus impressionnant et plus inquiétant, selon moi. Si c'était un travail professionnel, j'aurais corrigé ça comme un enfant sage, ou j'aurais tout simplement demandé à mon éditeur ce qu'il préférait. De toute façon, dans le comics on a le droit d'exagérer, non ? On parle quand même d'un type d'1m96 qui se déguise en chauve-souris LoL... :)

A second colored version for The Bats, something I've wanted a little vintage.... :)

I might do an alteration of this coloring one day, because it let me all the same satisfied and a little doubtful. At the moment, I publish it like it is, and we'll see...

Il n'est pas impossible que je fasse un jour des modifications sur cette colo, car elle me laisse à la fois satisfait et un peu dubitatif. Pour le moment, je la publie telle quelle, et on verra bien...

Honte à moi d'avoir mis autant de temps pour finir le Batman posté en octobre. Le fait est que je suis assez occupé, mais ça c'est une autre histoire...

Voici donc une première version couleur, assez classique :)

Et voilà la grosse bébête ! :) )

Prochaine étape l'encrage pour lequel j'hésite un peu sur les outils à employer.. Je sais en revanche que je n'utiliserai pas ou très peu la règle pour encrer le décor, afin de donner le maximum de caractère et de personnalité aux immeubles de Gotham. 

Dans les aventures de Batman, Gotham est un personnage à part entière. Je me suis sans surprise inspiré de sa représentation classique, une ville à la fois steampunk et gothique, inquiétante, agressive, sombre, à l'image de son chevalier noir !

A bientôt pour d'autres dessins, et la suite de celui-ci dès que possible.... ^^

Next step the inking, for whom I have a hesitation concerning the tools to use.. I just know that I won't use, or for a very little part, the rule to ink the background, in order to give the maximum of temper and personality to Gotham's buildings.

In Batman's adventures, Gotham is a character in itself. Without any surprise, I inspired myself from its classical imagery, a city all the same steampunk and gothic, insecure, agressive, dark, as its dark knight is !

The New Batman ! ! !

Alligators, tonight the net is exploding ! 8D

Zach Snyder has finally revealed a picture featuring Ben Affleck as the new Batman, for his 2016 "Superman Vs Batman : Dawn of Justice"  !

Being a fan of Ben (I really recommand "Argo" to everyone, especcially because it's an incredible true story !), I was glad he has been chosen for the part, and now I recognize the Frank Miller's and Jim Lee's approach in the design, with short ears and huge muscular frame, I guess all that sounds to be pretty interesting !

I'm even eager to watch his moving on screen, because when you consider how tall Ben is (6,3), the whole result should be pretty impressing ! By the way, for those who don't know, in the comic book, Batman is as tall, and if I'm not wrong, he might be a little taller than Superman.

Zach Snyder a enfin révélé une image de Ben Affleck, le nouveau Batman de son "Superman Vs Batman : Dawn of Justice" prévu pour 2016 !

Etant un fan de Ben (je recommande vraiment "Argo" à tout le monde, particulièrement parce qu'il s'agit d'une incroyable histoire vraie !), j'étais très heureux qu'il soit choisi pour le rôle, et à présent que je reconnais l'approche de Frank Miller et de Jim Lee dans le design, avec les petites oreilles et la large musculature, je me dis que ça devrait être intéressant ! 

Je suis même impatient de le voir bouger à l'écran, parce que quand on considère combien Ben est grand (1m92), le résultat devrait être vraiment impressionnant ! A propos, pour ceux qui ne le savent pas, dans la BD, Batman est tout aussi très grand, et si je ne me trompe pas, il pourrait même dépasser Superman d'un chouilla.
