Original 8,5 x 11, drawn and inked in 2010. Alterations and new suntan in 2011 :) / Original A 4, dessiné et encré en 2010. Modifications et nouveau bronzage en 2011 :)

Lara Croft is one of my favourite characters, because she's the incarnation of the typical adventurer, declined to a woman. Not really new, but a good idea. Its commercial success seems to confirm it.

Though my interest for the character, I've never been lucky with her. I drew her three times, and I have not been happy with any opus : (

This one is a piece I had done in 2010 to wish a happy birthday to a blogspot collegue. But I wasn't really happy with it, and wanted to work on it again, with a posture alterated, and a new colorisation. Finally, I found the time to do it. It's not perfect. The guns are lame and the torso seems too much twisted again, but it's better than the previous version, and I told to myself "why not show it, though ?". I'll try to correct an other piece of Lara I had done, and I'll blog it later. Being very likeable to draw, she'll come back one day on this blog, anyway, but with a "true" drawing, which means with a scenery and so on. And with real guns ! :)

Lara Croft est l'un de mes personnages préférés, car c'est l'incarnation typique de l'aventurier, décliné en mode féminin. Pas vraiment nouveau, mais bonne idée quand même. Son succès commercial semble le confirmer.

Malgré mon intérêt, je n'ai jamais eu de chance avec le personnage. Je l'ai dessinée trois fois et n'ai jamais été heureux avec aucun des opus : (

J'avais fait ce dessin en 2010 pour souhaiter un bon anniversaire à un collègue de blogspot. Mais je n'étais pas satisfait par ce que j'avais fait et je voulais le retravailler, avec des changements dans la posture et une nouvelle mise en couleurs. J'ai finalement trouvé le temps de le faire. Ce n'est pas parfait. Les pistolets sont mauvais et le torse me paraît encore trop tourné, mais c'est meilleur que la précédente version, et je me suis dit "pourquoi ne pas la montrer quand même, après tout ?". Je tâcherai de corriger une autre dessin que j'avais fait de Lara, et de la reposter plus tard. Vu qu'elle est très agréable à dessiner, elle reviendra de toute façon tôt ou tard sur ce blog, mais cette fois-ci avec un "vrai" dessin, c'est à dire avec un décor et tout et tout. Et avec de vrais flingues ! :)

This one is an old I wanted to correct and finish. The final version will be placed on the right side of the blog, as a contact icon or something like that :)

I'll make her fly in the next one. I don't make Diana fly enough ! :) )

Celui-ci est un vieux dessin que j'ai eu envie de corriger et de finir. La version terminée sera placée sur le côté droit du blog, comme icône contact ou un truc dans le genre :)

La prochaine, je la ferai en vol. Je ne fais pas assez voler Diana ! :) )

J'ai eu envie de refaire un Mister Kent. Je n'aimais pas vraiment ce que j'avais montré il y a quelques jours. Je dessinerai les parties manquantes à la tablette, dès la version encrée.

J'en profite pour vous dire que depuis quelques temps, j'ai pris l'habitude de supprimer certains articles et certains dessins de ce blog, de façon à faire le ménage et à ne garder que ce que je considère vraiment intéressant. Ne soyez donc pas étonné si vous ne trouvez plus certaines choses, c'est que je les ai enlevées ! :) )

C'est également pour moi le moyen de conserver de l'espace libre sur Picasa, là où nos images sont stockées.

I profit from the opportunity of this message to tell you I've recently taken the habit to cancel some articles and some drawings from this blog, to clean the gallery up and to keep the sole things I tell interesting. So, don't be surprised if you do not find some things anymore, I just have cancelled them :)

It's also a good way to keep some free space on Picasa, where our pictures are stocked.

A little tour in Brussels !

Sur la Grand Place/ On the "Grand Place".

Voici pour ceux qui n'ont jamais eu la chance d'y aller, quelques photos de mon séjour à Bruxelles ! En fait, la plupart de ces photos ont été prises par mes collègues et par mes élèves, car moi je n'avais pas le temps de faire de tourisme ! :) Pour être franc, je n'ai pas tellement aimé le centre ville, mais j'ai en revanche adoré la périphérie, notamment la Forêt de Soignes et la ville d'Aderghem ! Le plus gros problème que j'ai eu là-bas était que mon téléphone portable ne marchait pas. C'était dommage car j'avais acheté l'abonnement exprès. En général, je n'utilise pas de portable, je déteste ça ! Je ne pouvais donc joindre personne, et je ne pouvais pas être joint bien sur. Cela m'a causé quelques problèmes... : /

For those you have never gone to Belgium, these are some pics from my journey in Brussels ! In reality, most of these pics have been taken by my collegues and my pupils, because I hadn't time to play the tourist ! :) To be honest, I didn't really like the downtown, but I enjoyed the periphery a lot, like the Forest of Soignes, and the town of Aderghem ! The biggest problem I had there, is that my cellular didn't work there ! It was a shame because I had taken the subscription on purpose. In general, I don't use cellulars, I hate cellulars ! So I wasn't able to call anyone, nor to be called. It got me in a little trouble.... : /

A Bruxelles, de nombreuses fresques sont dédiées aux héros de Bande Dessinée franco-belge. Ici, Boule & Bill, de Roba. / In Brussels, you can find a lot of frescos on the walls ! All of them are dedicated to french and belgan comics heroes ! Here Boule and Bill, created by Roba.

Le Chat de Philippe Geluck/ The Cat of Philippe Geluck is a humoristical comic very appreciated at ours ! He's very funny !

Tout le monde connaît Tintin, d'Hergé :) / Everyone knows Tintin, from Hergé (Georges Rémy) :)

ça, je ne connais pas... quelqu'un m'a dit Bob et Bobette.... ? / I don't know this... someone told me Bob et Bobette.... ?

Je ne connais pas non plus.... / I don't know this either.... In fact, the production of comics is very huge in Europe, so it's difficult to have a whole knowledge of all is done, if you're not a specialist. The things presented here are limited to the humoristical part, I guess. In reality, styles, strokes, and topics are far wider in European comics !

Et voici ma fresque préférée ! Quelqu'un m'a dit qu'il s'agit d'Isabelle, faisant référence à une série dessinée par Will (Willy Maltaite) et écrite au départ par Yvan Delporte & Raymond Macherot, puis par André Franquin/ And this is my favourite fresco ! Someone told me it's Isabelle, from a serie drawn by Will (Willy Maltaite), and written at start by Yvan Delporte & Raymond Macherot, and after by André Franquin.

Je ne peux pas montrer tout ce que mes amis et moi avons vu à Bruxelles, car il y a vraiment beaucoup de choses à voir. Il y a un Musée de la Bande Dessinée (franco-belge en réalité), un musée dédié au peintre René Magritte (probablement d'un intérêt supérieur), un Musée du Chocolat, beaucoup de parcs, de cafés, de restaurants, etc...

Mais deux curiosités ont retenu mon attention : l'Atomium, qui est un musée dédiée aux sciences en général (pour être honnête, c'est pas le meilleur que j'aie pu voir, mais c'est cool de rentrer dans sa structure, laquelle a la forme d'une molécule ^^ et vous avez une très belle vue de la ville une fois au sommet)

Et le Parc Mini Europe qui présente plusieurs édifices européens en miniatures.

I can't show all the things my friends and me have seen in Brussels, because there are a lot of things to be seen. There are a museum of comics (french and belgan comics in fact), a museum dedicated to the painter René Magritte (probably of more interest), a museum of chocolate, a lot of parks, coffees, restaurants, and so on...

But two curiosities has holden my attention : the Atomium, which is a museum dedicated to science in general (to be honest, it's not the best I have visited, but it's cool to enter the structure, which is designed like a molecule ^^ and you can have a beautiful view of the town when you're on the top),

And the Mini europe Park, which presents a lot of european structures in miniatures.
